Daiwa Bunka-kan
This long, oval-shaped jar retains its perfect form. The short neck is in perfect harmony with the short outer rim. The edge of the mouth rim is folded outward to form a rim band. The body is made of rolled-up clay with a striped pattern on the outer surface and a blue sea wave pattern on the inner surface. The firing is extremely solid, and the gray surface is covered with a light green natural glaze that is very impressive. It is thought to be from the Oku Kogama kiln in Okayama Prefecture.
