The vertical tip of the neck is folded down to form a broad rim, and the long, sloping body has the same shape as that of the four-mimi jar dated to the first year of the Fukuan Era.
The wide rim of the jar and the long, bulging body with a sloping shoulder are consistent with the four-mimi jar dated to the first year of the Fuan dynasty. The clay is made of corded clay, and the surface of the vessel is uniformly shaped horizontally, giving it a well-proportioned form. Wavy and horizontal lines are alternately drawn on the shoulder by comb drawing. The wavy lines on Bizen vases were changed to comb patterns around the Nanbokucho period, and around the middle of the Muromachi period, wavy patterns and other comb patterns were used vertically and horizontally to decorate the surface of the vessels.
The surface is reddish brown with a yellowish green natural glaze on the shoulder, which enhances the appearance of this jar. There is a geta mark on the bottom. This is one of the finest Bizen large vases.
