This is a new form of round-bodied jar with an inverted mouth. The neck of the mouth is slightly tilted inward and the tip is turned outward, a 16th-century technique. The body is made in a five-tiered hagi-zukuri style with a rolled-up clay cord, and the surface is shaped with a comb, a new style that emerged in the same period. It has a mother’s mark on the shoulder. It is beautifully glazed with a fresh green glaze.
