Height 7.9cm, mouth diameter 10.4cm, base diameter 5.0cm
This is another tea bowl of the same style as the previous one. The mouth is held slightly inward, one side of the body is tightened, and the waist is clearly curved. The small base is low, similar to that of “Shunkan”, and the inside of the base is decorated with a gentle Tomoe helmet. The inside of the base has a gentle “Tomoe” kabuki-kin. A shallow semicircular “chadamuri” (tea pool) is formed on the inside of the base. The glazed surface has no luster at all, and it is a tea bowl with an austere color tone. On the back of the lid of the inner box, Zuiryuusai Sosa wrote “Black Tea Bowl, Rikyu’s favor, Chojiro ware, Fushin’an Sosa (Hanaseki)”. Along with the tea bowl with Esen’s calligraphy in the previous illustration, this is also extremely rare as a Chojiro ware tea bowl with Zuiryuusai’s calligraphy on the box.
