 The mouth is open and strongly distorted, the side part of the body is left white, the other side is covered with black glaze, the black glaze is scraped off around the mouth and the body, a thick and thin horizontal stripe pattern is applied, on one side a horizontal stripe and circle pattern is shown, the prospect also has a white line in a vertical line. In addition, a horizontal stripe pattern is also painted on the white part of the unglazed black part, which is then covered with feldspar glaze. This tea bowl is a very uninhibited work, and is highly valued as a outstanding masterpiece among the black Oribe tea bowls. There is a mark of “I” engraved on the top of the bowl. On the front of the lid of the box, there are two characters “Matsukaze” and on the back of the box, there is an inscription of a poem “Koto no Oto ni Yamaji no Oku wo Tatsunure, Utsurinaki Mine no Matsukaze”. It is said to have been handwritten by Kobori Juzaemon Masataka.
