This is a large pitcher, and may have been used as a hot-water container. This is the most outstanding example of this vessel type, together with the “water pouring vessel with tortoiseshell joint design” (Fig. 36). It is glazed green on two sides from the shoulder to the hem of the body, with a plum bowl or plaid pattern on the reverse side and a picture of a bridge and a tree-like design on the front. The front is painted with a bridge and a tree-like design. The arched handles are decorated with floral arabesques often seen in Oribe. The bottom of the bowl is in open-worked form and has legs on three sides.
