Height 9.7cm, mouth diameter 13.0-14.2cm, base diameter 6.7cm
A large semi-tubular tea bowl with a slightly outward opening at the mouth, a so-called “body strap” on the body, and a low and straight ring-shaped pedestal. Half of the thick base is covered with iron glaze, and the other half with earth and ash glaze. Although no other examples of the same type have been found, it is presumed to have been made in the under kiln of the Iidaoka kiln, and it seems that this type of semi-tubular, powerful tea bowl was specially fired in the Iidaoka kiln. It may be possible to relate this type of bowl to Toguro and Shino, judging from the style of the bowls.
