This is the most expensive of the Nabeshima shaku-plate in overglaze enamels and is a large dish with a gorgeous design, but it is thicker than the fifth painting, has a rounded mouth rim, and is shaped slightly inward, as is usual with shaku-plate in general.
The shape of this dish is thicker than that of the fifth panel, with a rounded mouth rim and a slightly inwardly turned shape, as is typical of shaku (one meter) dishes. However, the line drawings are spontaneous and sure, and the colors of the red, green, and yellow overglaze pigments are good. There is another large dish with a similar composition in the collection of the Umezawa Memorial Museum, but this dish, formerly owned by Matasaku Shiohara, is more beautifully executed. The outer surface is decorated on three sides with a cloisonne pattern, a typical Okochi-gama back design, and the base is covered with a kushime pattern. It was probably made between the Genroku and Kyoho periods.
