　The design is unusual in that fine whorls are applied in sumi-hajiri ink over the entire surface of the prospective surface, and several bracken are arranged in white. The peony arabesque design on the reverse side is done in rather stiff brush strokes, and the base is covered with a continuous pattern that looks like broken lotus petals.
