Height 7.0 cm, mouth diameter 34.2 cm, bottom diameter 19.4 cm, Manno Art Museum
This is a large circular dish with rounded curved sides and a flat rim. Among the Ko-Kutani style color paintings, those with a rouge rim seem to date back to a slightly later period, and many of these types of dishes have an arabesque pattern in underglaze blue and yellow on the outside. The front is framed in navy blue and yellow and has three large windows in the shape of a state beach with chrysanthemums, flying birds, peonies, and irises, with a three-petaled floral design in the center and a jukuri design between the windows. The space in dark green is decorated with cloisonne enamel patterns. The overglaze paints on each side are richly colored and vivid.
However, the floral motifs within the window are somewhat stylized compared to those of the earlier period. The reverse side is decorated with peony arabesques in underglaze blue, and a single square inscription in underglaze blue is also inscribed in underglaze blue on the base with the character “Fuku” (福).
