Ishikawa Prefectural Art Museum
This dish has the exact same shape as the large dish with a tiger and bamboo design in overglaze enamels. The prospect is decorated with a poor-looking drawing of seaweed and a jumping prawn. The use of red only for the shrimp’s beard is characteristic of the Ko-Kutani style. The base is a little whiter than the previous work. On the reverse side, the Chinese character for “Bu” is written in slang script, and the Chinese character for “Taimei” is written in red overglaze enamels on the four sides and inside of the base.
