　This piece probably belonged to the Maeda family of Kaga, Japan. Fuji in the three different styles of morning, noon, and dusk, this is a unique example among the incense burners produced by Ninsei. The flat base and the Fuji-shaped lid are composed of a flat base with a cylinder in the center to hold ashes, and the lid is a slightly different design, representing morning, noon, and dusk. Three holes for smoke ventilation are drilled near the top of the mountain, and a random pattern is painted in iron glaze at the foot of the mountain, perhaps representing clouds or the mood of a pine grove. The words “Insei” are inscribed on both sides of the body, but few of them are carved in this manner.
