Tenneiji Temple
This tea bowl was handed down to Tenneiji Temple, which had a relationship with Munehwa, and a letter from Munehwa has been preserved at Tenneiji Temple. The unique shape of the bowl, with the body tightened and the mouth held slightly inward, is said to have been Munewa’s favorite since ancient times. The entire surface of the bowl is covered with a soft white glaze, leaving the area around the base covered with a daffodil design in underglaze iron and white. This is one of the best iron-work tea bowls by Insei.
