While tubular vessel bases were used from the 5th to the early 6th century and disappeared quickly, high cup-shaped vessel bases were produced until the end of the 6th century. This is the earliest example of a high cup stand, consisting of a large, deep bowl with a broad base of the same height as the bowl. The cup is decorated with four double chinkaku lines on the outer surface, with a wavy design in the comb pattern between the four lines. This form is very similar to Silla ware of the 5th century. Later, the base of the high cup gradually became higher and higher, and the number of watermarks increased to three, four, and five tiers.
