The name “Sake-drinking Child” comes from the red glaze of the pottery, and the inscription by Hara So is written directly on the pottery. The inscription on the box also reads, “When drinking sake, enjoy the mountain and the tea.”
It was also formerly known as Oeyama.
The rim is slightly curved inward, forming a mountain path. The body features vertical and horizontal grooves, with additional grooves below the waist. The foot rim is made of red clay, and there was once a direct inscription by Haraso depicting the Sake-Drinking Child, but it is now unclear.
The interior is spacious, with blue spots from the firing process.
