This is a semi-cylindrical tea bowl with a slightly flared lower rim; it is a robust piece formed with a thick body. The footring is wide, with carved grooves running around the base, and a deep well for tea has been formed in the interior. A transparent glaze covers the entire surface, with a fire-change effect appearing on one side of the body. A mark is clearly stamped inside the foot, and a thick layer of glaze is applied over it. On the lid’s exterior is inscribed “Atsuhare,” and on the lid’s interior, Ryoryo Sai has inscribed “Created by Soju, Red, Tensei-to, Left (Seal).”
