This is one of the “Sairi 200” bowls said to have been created during the artist’s later years. It is a rounded tea bowl with an inward-curving rim, a tapered body, and a rounded lower section; the small, narrow foot is attached to one side. The interior is rounded, and the inside of the foot is carved into a small, perfect circle; three marks are visible on the foot rim. A jet-black glaze, well-fused throughout, covers the piece evenly. The lid of the box is inscribed with “From the ‘Nihyaku’ series, Raku Sairyu seal” on the front, and the underside of the lid bears the inscription “Yume-ukibashi, Jushinsai (signature).”
