Like the Oribe-style Imitation Tea Bowl inscribed “Shikai-nami,” this is also an Oribe-style imitation tea bowl. The techniques used are almost identical, including the raised ridges running around the body, the flat rim at the base of the body, and the construction of the foot. Green glaze is applied to the interior and exterior of the rim. Under a transparent glaze, rust-painted designs of skewered dumplings and a fence pattern are depicted, leaving the footring and its surroundings exposed. A seal of ownership is stamped inside the footring. On the front of the box lid, the inscription “Oribe-style Shitsutsu Chawan, Kichizaemon” is written.
