This flower vase is the finest example of Hiseiji ware; its form is incomparable to the Hiseiji vases with citrus-shaped mouths that one occasionally encounters.
The speckled patterns of the spattered celadon glaze are truly beautiful.
Some argue that it is slightly younger than the Kinuta style and closer to the Yuan Dynasty, but in any case, the vase’s clean lines are well-suited to the tastes of tea masters.
It is only natural that it has been passed down through generations of tea families such as the Konoike family.
