It is a tea bowl that is a model of what Shozui should be. As the name “Kutsu-shape” suggests, the body of the bowl is slightly extended into an oval shape, and the lower part of the decorative design on the rim of the bowl is lightly pressed inward to form a Kutsu-chawan shape. The wide rim and low center of gravity are balanced by the large base. 　The outer surface of the bowl has a cobblestone pattern around the mouth rim and a cylindrical arabesque pattern around the base. The upper and lower parts of the bowl are covered with a band of cobblestone patterns, and around the base of the bowl is a cylindrical arabesque design. Looking at the body of the goose, the wings are painted in dark underglaze blue, and the body is painted in light underglaze blue, creating fine differences in nuance. This method of painting in underglaze blue is related to the Yasukuma underglaze blue that was to follow. The inner surface is lined with circles around the rim, each circle is decorated with a landscape, such as Ashiba Daruma and Higashi Hantoukisou, as well as fine ground patterns such as cobblestones and diagonal latticework. The wink and wink lines hanging down between the circles are also in the usual pattern.
