This is a stout plum vase with a large, stout shoulder and a large base. It is a rather new type of ume vase. The design consists of two large leaves arranged in pairs facing each other in the center of the body. The thick round carving technique used for the floral motif is in keeping with the style of the period.
The ash glaze shows a stable glaze tone, slightly oxidized and yellowish green in color.
