 There is no doubt that this iron-glazed small jar was made as a tea container. Of the many forms of matcha taken up in the Muromachi period (1336-1573), this is probably the closest to the quantity. It is made of grandmother baiko clay, and the iron glaze has reached a state of perfection as an Koseto axis. It is a magnificent piece of work.
