By the 6th century, small earthenware jars with round bottoms had disappeared and flattened bodies with long necks were the norm. Short-necked jars like this one are probably modeled after Sue ware. It is very well fired, and the upper half of the exterior surface is decorated with tansai, while the interior is decorated with tansai on the mouth neck and bottom.
