This was found as a bone vessel along with many others in the medieval cemetery at the Sutra Mound site. It is an unusual vessel shape not previously known, and it is not clear what its original purpose was. The ash glaze has almost completely worn off, leaving only a small portion on the rim. The lower half is decorated with painted foliate motifs, while the upper half has parallel lines and a series of arc-shaped sunken lines on top of them.
