This type of green-glazed handled water jar first attracted attention after the war when it was excavated at the Hiraide site in Nagano Prefecture, but its nature was unknown due to the condition of the excavation and the accompanying artifacts. However, its nature remained unknown due to the state of the excavation and the unknown artifacts accompanying it.
This water pouring vessel was made by placing a 1.8 cm-diameter long, narrow spout on the shoulder of a water bottle with a band of a thrust at the junction of the mouth neck and shoulder, and attaching a flat handle from the top of the mouth neck to the shoulder of the body.
It is made of hard clay with a brownish color and covered with a dark green glaze, giving it a dull grayish-green hue. The green glaze is poorly polished and the glaze is very uneven.
This handled pitcher was influenced by the shapes commonly found in Yuezhou celadon, Ding ware white porcelain, and Jingdezhen blue and white porcelain from the Tang to Song dynasties. The three bowls, large and small, are all sharply wheel-thrown, thin, and fine examples, covered with a dark dark green glaze. Two of the four plates have stepped inner surfaces, and may have been used as arm saucers. They are probably the same type of tsingko seen in the Engishiki (Engi Shiki).
The pitcher, bowl, and dish all have the same base material and are glazed with the same green glaze, suggesting that they were made at the same time, but the kiln site where this glaze was fired has not yet been determined.
