Jizo
Jizo

Chukoh specialty. Tea caddy, Rikyu kiln. This tea caddy is so named because the body has a spatula shaped like a Jizo (a Buddhist image of the Ksitigarbha). This tea caddy has a brilliant luster and is a unique tea caddy with an unusual view. It was owned by Koheiji Fuyuki, Suo Mamoru Matsudaira, Moemon Naraya, and Yanosuke Akahoshi, and entered the Nomura family in 1917. (Kokin Meibutsu Ruiju, Rimpo Kameryu, Taisho Meikikan)
