16th century
Height 14.3 cm, mouth diameter 9.1 cm, body diameter 14.5 cm, bottom diameter 12.2 cm
This small jar is rare in the Echizen region in that it has a double-lobed mouth rim and a shoulder that bends down to the body. The clay is rather coarse and the firing is not very tight.
The iron glaze applied from the mouth rim to the lower half of the body is also rare among Echizen small vases. It has a Shigaraki-like appearance.
