This pottery should be considered Kaga Kōtō considering the outwardly folded rim band and the tenacious quality of the clay. The taut shoulders suggest that it was made in the late Kamakura period. There is an imprint of twilled cedar on the shoulder. The surface of the clay has been brushed and adjusted, and the well-fired brownish-brown surface is lightly coated with a natural glaze. It is one of the few Kaga pieces of this type.
