This form, with a short neck that immediately turns outward from the shoulder, is related to a sutra jar excavated from a sutra mound on the hill behind Nishiji Temple, and may be considered as a small jar form. The bottom of the jar was made to a certain height by clay stringing and then grafted on to the top, a molding technique unique to Suzu. The surface of the vessel is decorated with thick stripes of stripes in one diagonal direction, and it should be dated to the middle of the Kamakura period. There is an engraving on the shoulder.
