This jar was excavated together with other jars from inside the kiln. It is made of iron-rich clay containing feldspar and quartz grains, and was molded by rolling up corded clay, with the vessel surface adjusted with a brush to the horizontal nadir. There are few examples of this type of jar, and it is not known if it was a common form or not. The production of vessels of various sizes for various purposes is a characteristic of the late Muromachi period.
