This bowl is one of the most exquisite of all Nezumi-Shino pots and is considered to be one of the best. The mouth, which is gently stepped at the waist, is unevenly shaped on the four sides by hand strokes, and the rounded bottom has legs on three sides. The bamboos on the rocks are carved with white lines and painted on a white ground.
According to Mr. Toyozo Arakawa, the large rock in the foreground and the two white-out areas around the rim were left over when the oniita make-up was applied with a ladle. The glaze over the entire piece is smooth and well blended.
