Water jar, Chōsen-garatsu type

Water jar, Chōsen-garatsu type

It is clearly made to order in the tea ceremony world. Seven similar examples are known to us, and they are highly valued in the world of chayu (tea ceremony). All of them were made by tapping, and some of them have a blue ocean wave pattern on the inside, while others do not. The black ame glaze and white straw ash glaze are clearly separated at the center of the body, creating a beautiful view of the black glaze dripping down like a waterfall. The black glaze has a beautiful cascade-like appearance, and there is also a piece with a few streaks of white glaze poured from the mouth, which was made with full awareness of the glaze landscape color. Many of them have a flat bottom and a thin layer of ash glaze around the bottom. Made by Fujino Kawauchi Kiln.
