This vessel seems to have been made in the style of Bizen ware or Tanba ware boat-shaped tokuri, with a large, flattened hem and a stroking body. The iron glaze has developed a reddish color, giving the vessel a deeply tasty glazed surface. It is also a beaten piece, and is assumed to have been fired at the Tashiro kiln of the Matsuura lineage.
