The lid of the box it came in is inscribed “Ninsei-style tea utensils, Nin’ami seal” and bears a gourd-shaped seal, and it is indeed a tea bowl with a smooth shape that imitates Ninsei. The foot of the bowl is open to the outside, and the inside of the foot is deeply and roundly carved, with a roundel standing in the center. The surface of the body is decorated with a picture of a bamboo and a Japanese bush warbler, but it is thought that this was painted by a painter of the same period, rather than by Niami. The entire surface is covered with a yellowish white glaze, leaving the foot area untouched.
