This tea bowl is a famous piece I have often seen at exhibitions, but it has a very soft feel and is a spacious, elegant tea bowl.
I have never tasted tea from this bowl, but there is no doubt that it would bring out the flavor of tea.
During firing, the shape collapsed, resulting in deformations that add an interesting visual element.
Among potters, there is a saying that in a tea bowl, the shape should be as correct as possible, the walls should be as thin as possible, the glaze should be as thick as possible, and the shape should collapse as much as possible during firing. This tea bowl embodies all of these principles, with excellent color and is a typical example of a Hagi tea bowl.
