This boxwood incense container has been appreciated since ancient times for its good shape, interesting design, and variety of colors.
However, it is ranked second on the ranking list.
The question is why this incense box was placed rather low on the ranking list, but it is thought that it was probably because it was imported in relatively large numbers.
This incense container, in particular, was selected as a masterpiece because it has a very lively color scheme, with yellow glaze for the wrapper, purple for the horse, and blue glaze for the whole body.
A few more pieces of this color type have been handed down to the present day, but most of them have purple colored tasuki (wrappers).
