This water jar is common among green-glazed and ash-glazed ceramics of the late Heian period, and usually has a spout on the shoulder. The upper half of the neck has a large trumpet-shaped opening, and the handle is made of two clay cords twisted together to form a thick handle with a diameter of 2 cm. It is made of grayish-white, highly refractory clay and is covered with an ash glaze applied by brush. The high stand is missing and a different one has been attached.
