This stout and short katakuchi jar is a good example of the transition process to small katakuchi jars of the next generation. It is wheel-thrown and thinly raised. The body is decorated with three thin, fishhook-shaped engravings in a woven pattern, which may be kiln marks or decorations. It is not known if they are kiln marks or decorations. The pottery is well fired and has a grayish-black color overall due to reduction, but part of the shoulder and mouth rim are oxidized and have a brownish-brown fire color.
