This is a large jar from the peak of Bizen pottery production with a comb-shaped design. This is a typical long-bodied jar with a slightly outward-turned neck and a ball-rim shape at the tip of the neck. Three horizontal lines are drawn from just below the neck to the shoulder using six comb-tooths, between which eight serrated motifs are drawn down from above in the upper section and ten in the lower section. The firing is very good, and the brownish-brown shoulder of the vessel is covered with a cloudy dark green natural glaze.
