Height 11.6cm, Bowl diameter 11.9cm, Base diameter 6.1cm
This is a large cylindrical tea bowl similar to Setoguro, and although we do not know whether it was done intentionally or by accident, it has a simple wheel-thrown form with a so-called “neriage” style, in which red clay is mixed with white clay unique to Mino, and the inside of the bowl has a wheel-thrown surface, and in the center of the prospective area, a tea tamari, which is also common to Setoguro, is carved out. The body is covered with feldspar glaze, and the glaze is thicker and there are several streaks of white and red clay. There are three small marks left on the surface and a circular kiln mark on the base of the bowl. This is considered to be one of the earliest Shino tea bowls.
