This is a typical earthenware cup copied from a Sue ware cup. The accompanying Sue ware cup dates from the Kaihokuzuka and Dokiiyama burial mounds at the end of the 6th century, and can be used as a chronological reference point. The interior and exterior surfaces, especially the bottom, have been thinned by scraping, and the ware is well tempered and reddish in color.
