The Funada site, together with the Nakada site in the same city, is a representative settlement site of the Kofun period in the Kanto region, where numerous dwelling sites have been excavated, and is a reference material (Onitaka style) for earthenware in the Kanto region in the 6th to 7th century. This batch of pottery excavated from the No. 47 dwelling site in the K2 district is a remarkable example of the rich variety of vessels used in a single dwelling. These earthenware vessels are rarely accompanied by Sue ware cups and cups made of Sue ware: and cups are also made of earthenware.
