Height 17.6 cm, mouth diameter 11.7 cm, body diameter 19.0 cm, bottom diameter 13.8 cm
This is a rare example of a Shigemochi-style gourd-shaped container, a style of Shigaraki or Iga ware. The top and bottom of the body are decorated with patterns in the style of kizusa, glauze, and pine needles, while the mouth and one side of the body are glazed in black and the other in feldspar. The flat bottom was also glazed, leaving faint traces of the glaze. Since a similar piece with mottled black glaze was excavated from the Ushi kiln, it is assumed to have been made in the same kiln.
