This jar shows a hemp leaf pattern on the shoulder. The leaf is pasted on the base, red dobe is applied on top, and then the leaf is peeled off to form the design, which is unique to Tamba. The yellow glaze is applied to the square part, and the body is bright reddish with the dobe. The back of the jar is inscribed in scattered inscriptions, “Kami: Kichi Hoei 7 May Yoshiyoshi, by Tsuboya Sokichi,” and although the age of this jar has changed, it is included here because it is an important document of red dobe ware.
