This is one of the oldest types of straight-mouth vases. It is made of grayish-white, dense clay and has an elaborate wheel-thrown finish. There are two stripes in the center of the neck, and a wavy comb-like pattern is decorated below the stripes. The ware is slightly under-fired, and is close to tile ware. There are many Sue ware vessels from the Kanasaki burial mound, all of which are thought to be products of the Touyuu kiln and may have been transported even if they were a little under-fired.
