This incense container, painted with green, blue, and gold overglaze over a light brown ground glaze with penetrations, is a rare example of a small piece of so-called Koshimizu ware. The green and blue coloring with almost no white space is reminiscent of kotsuji ware, and the peacock with open tail feathers shows the influence of Omuro Ninsei, who beautifully designed incense burners and incense containers with motifs associated with birds, animals, and the folklore of the Yushoku era. The blue and green overglaze paints are applied thickly, resulting in deep and vivid colors with a high degree of transparency. The blue and green overglaze paints are applied thickly, resulting in clear, deep, and vivid colors. The goukuchi and flat bottom of the bowl are guttural, and the bottom is unmarked.
