This sake bottle bottle has a unique shape with the shoulders shaped like a mountain. The four sides of the shoulders are decorated with butterflies, the body is roughly decorated with a Chinese floral design, and the lid, which has a round cord, is decorated with a five-petaled floral design. The bottom of the clay vessel is carved in the center in the style of a bamboo wheel and has incisions on all four sides, and on the base of the bamboo wheel is stamped the seal “Go-Bosatsu” (meaning “Bodhisattva” in Chinese). It is thought that this pottery was not made during the Gobosatsu-ike period, but rather after it was moved to Karasuma Neutral Seller.
