This tea caddy has a well-made rounded rim that fits neatly into the lid, with a shoulder that is neither too wide nor too narrow, and a body that is not too bulky, giving it a gentle shape that supports the base.
Its light persimmon-colored base is a distinctive feature, with a darker glaze flowing from the shoulders, creating a beautiful single streak that catches the light.
The author recalls seeing this tea caddy at the Sakai family auction and being struck by its elegant appearance, reminiscent of a handsome young man.
It is particularly noteworthy that rare Meibutsu pieces, such as Futari Shizuka, Kamakura Kandou, and Honnoji Kiru, have been selected as replacement covers.
