This tea caddy is one of the representative examples of maru-tsubo (round-bodied tea caddies).
The lid stands tall, and the flat, rounded body is well-proportioned, giving it the name maru-tsubo. The glaze is applied evenly, with thin, wavy patterns in places, creating a scenic effect. The quality is excellent, and it has a gentle appearance.
The clay is of good quality, and the pot is well-fired, revealing the original thread marks.
It comes with a square tray with four corners, which has a seal of Tsuchida Oribe on the back. (From Fushimiya Techo)
Four covers. Four types of Donshu. Tea ground plum blossom pattern, bird pattern, tortoise shell pattern, and Teika mon tea ground, all of which are skillfully made.
