Tea Scoop
A serene piece that at first glance could be mistaken for Rikyū’s work.

Case
Hand-carved, with the character “Dō” and the artist’s signature inscribed in lacquer. The bold calligraphy is characteristic of Dōan.

Outer box: Paulownia, natural wood. Lid with crossbars. Inside lid: Inscription by Rokusai Sōsa.

The “Jushin-an” part in the accompanying note below can be interpreted as a pun combining “Teaspoon-viewing Old Man” and “Sleeping Old Man.”
